Analog Art in a Digital World

Lately, we’ve been paying close attention to artists who are pursuing analog connection in our increasingly disconnected, digital world. Lindsay Wilkins is one of them. Her work reminds us that creativity is a powerful force of human connection, and that small actions can inspire others in big ways.

In this conversation, we’ll talk with Lindsay about how she tends to her creative life alongside raising children, what fuels her art-making, and how her practice has become a place of grounding and renewal. We talk about the tension and beauty of working with our hands, the importance of slowing down, and how making space for art can enrich both our mothering and our sense of self.

Bio:

Lindsay Wilkins passionately pursues a creative life in the midst of messy motherhood. She recently moved from sunny O'ahu to San Diego, where she homeschools her three children full time, and infuses creativity into every area of her life.

As a self-taught intuitive artist, she has been selling her artwork in the online sphere for 15 years. Inspired by the sparks of emotion that color can evoke, the vivid palette of the ocean, and even the beautiful chaos of motherhood, her artwork is vibrant and organic. Her favorite canvases include the surfboards she makes with her husband, Chris, and the walls in her own home.

Lindsay uses acrylic paint, pastels and ink to create movement and magical moments in her artwork. You can check out her work or join the Hello Hue mail club here.
