Podcast: Setting Creative Goals with Elise Cripe

Hey Exhale! It’s January! Time to set some creative goals and start acting on them. We asked the perfect person to join us to chat through the whole process: Elise Cripe! We talk about starting small, honoring your time zones with your creative projects, changing goals when you need to (they’re your goals, after all!), and more -- so grab your pen, paper or goal-setting journal, and let’s set some creative goals for 2020.

Elise Blaha Cripe lives with her husband and two young daughters in San Diego, California. She has been sharing thoughts and DIY projects online since 2005, running an online shop of handmade goods since 2008, and in 2015 launched GET TO WORK BOOK, a day planner + goal setting journal. Elise wrote a guide book to goal-setting called Big Dreams, Daily Joys which launched last fall in October, which tackles the topic we’re going to chat about today: setting goals, getting things done, and making space for the things that matter. Elise blogs at Enjoyitblog.com and is a super fun follow @elisejoy on Instagram.

Resources we talked about:

We referenced Elise’s recent book, Big Dreams, Daily Joys, a lot in this interview. Sonya and Abbie highly recommend adding it to your new year reading if you haven’t already.

Sign up for Elise’s newsletter right on her homepage and she’ll send you her free habit tracker for the new year.

Elise shared a quote from Amy Poehler’s book, Yes, Please!

A creative prompt for you:

Take 10 minutes and reflect on the last year. What were your wins? What would you like to complete that you haven’t yet? What small way can you improve in the coming year? Bonus: do this with your partner or even all together with your kids!

A quote Elise shared with you:

“Good for her! Not for me.” - Amy Poehler
