September: True

I want to start, quite simply, with being confident in what is true about me.
— Katie Blackburn, from the essay "I Don't Even Like Beer."

In Katie’s essay, she shares a poignant realization about how in one moment, you can deny what’s true about yourself. It begged us to ask the question, “Am I being true to myself?” Often we let the beasts of comparison, envy, and societal pressure sway us away from what we know is true about ourselves. We let facades cover up who we actually are instead of simply stating what is true.

This month’s blog hop is all about introducing ourselves to ourselves. It can be a biography or a reintroduction. You can also focus on holding onto one simple truth about yourself that you once hid away.

Proclaim what’s true about you with full confidence.
