April: Simple

Simple: free from guile : free from vanity : free from ostentation or display : of humble origin or modest position : readily understood or performed

Sometimes, life feels too complicated. I hear my daughter complain out of frustration when something feels “too hard.” I ask her how we can make it easier, simpler. Sometimes, I feel the same way when schedules, circumstances, and conversations are complex and demanding. I need to ask myself how I can make these things easier, simpler.

This month, we are embracing “simple,” rather than criticizing it for not being enough. How can we simplify something that feels too overwhelming? How do we feel when we cut through the excess and get to the basics of our hopes and purpose for motherhood, creativity, and beyond? What are our simple joys? What simple gifts have made the biggest impact on our lives? What simple ways, ideas, or routines do we want to either try or get back to?
